Brief history: Haku's clan was once a powerful clan in the Mist Village. After the Third Ninja World war, almost all clans with Kekkei Genkai were ostracized, especially after the Kaguya massacre. Haku's mother fled the village, settling down in a farming town on one of the Water Country's outlying islands. There, she bore Haku with a commoner who did not know her lineage. Upon discovering his wife and son had kekkei genkai, he gathered a mob to destroy them. While he was able to kill his wife, Haku defended himself and escaped. Later, when Haku died, it could be said the known clan members were dead... But were they really?

Jutsu Name: Secret Jutsu: A Thousand Needles of Death
Classification: Ninjutsu

Brief description of what it does: Using this jutsu, Haku gathers some water from the air and surrounding environment into one thousand long needles. He then directs them to a specific target at high speed, leaping backwards before impact so he doesn't get caught in the crossfire. While the needles do surround a target from all sides, they don't appear above the target, creating an escape route. Haku is able to perform this jutsu with one-handed seals, allowing him to pin an opponent's arm and attack while they cannot use any techniques themselves.

Brief description of what it does: The user unleashes giant spikes made of ice if they are endangered. Haku used this when he defends himself from his father when he attempted to kill him because of his Kekkei Genkai.

Brief description of what it does: Haku can quickly create an ice dome around his allies and himself to act as a defense. It is strong enough to withstand the assault of many exploding tags at once, remaining almost undamaged.

Jutsu Name: Secret Jutsu: Crystal Ice Mirrors
Classification: Ninjutsu
Type: Ice

Range: Short to Mid Range
Brief description of what it does: Using his kekkei genkai, Haku can create a dome of twenty-one mirrors made out of ice to trap an opponent. Twelve remain at ground level, eight are placed above the first twelve and angled toward the ground, and the final mirror is above the rest and facing the ground. Haku can then enter one of the mirrors and instantly transport to another mirror. While moving about he bombards the opponent with attacks at very high speeds, such that the rest of the world appear to be moving in slow motion compared to him. Also, all the mirrors show a reflection of Haku, so it is difficult for the opponent to discern which mirror he is in.
If the mirror Haku is in is broken, he can leap out of one of the fragments and continue his attack or move to another mirror. The technique requires a large amount of chakra to maintain, so Haku's movement becomes progressively slower the longer he maintains the mirrors.
Though they are made from ice, the mirrors are resistant to at least low level fire techniques (Sasuke's Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique was barely able to make the rim frost melt).
Haku has also shown the ability to attack people far in the sky with his Ice Mirrors.

Brief description of what it does: After forming the needed handseals, the user will touch the ground, causing columns of ice to rise from the ground at the foe. If caught, the ice will rise up around the target and imprison them. It can also be used as a defensive measure, raising the ice to form a shield against incoming attacks.

Brief description of what it does: This jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Ice Element. After forming the needed handseals, Haku will thrust his arm to send out a black ether–like dragon to strike his opponent. As it flies through the air it will begin to turn likea tornado. When it hits the target it will use its motion to launch the opponent high into the air additionally causing impact damage.

Brief description of what it does: A Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Ice Element. The user will create ice swallows which they can launch at her opponent. As they fly through the air, these deadly birds can hone in on their target. A sufficiently hot enough counter can melt the ice swallows.

Brief description of what it does: After forming the needed handseals, a gigantic horned white whale made of ice form in the air and then come thundering down on an opponent, crushing them and the surrounding area under its large mass. It forms slowly if not formed from snow, ice, or water, however, giving ample time to dodge.

Brief description of what it does: A Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Ice Element. After forming the needed handseals, an ice tiger will form from water or water vapor in the air to strike out against its target. Its cold nature can freeze any nearby water, and its large mass can cause a large amount of damage when it impacts.

Brief description of what it does: The user coats a part of their body in ice, either their fist, knee, or leg, when hitting someone with said part. This increases the power of the impact by twofold. The ice shatters after the attack is done.

Persona
Personality: Haku was a good-natured, compliant, and eager shinobi, believing that a person becomes truly strong when they have someone important to protect. Despite his talent for battle, and incredible abilities, Haku disliked needing to kill others in his role as a tool, and avoided doing so whenever possible. When forced to face an opponent, Haku did all that he could to avoid inflicting great harm, even putting them into a death-like state to prevent them from fighting further, as he did to Sasuke during their battle. Before he met Zabuza, he suffered from a belief that he was unnecessary, and served Zabuza because he wanted to feel useful.

Beyond his role as a tool, Haku is very much a person himself. He loves animals of all sorts, to the extent he only kills them when he intends to use their entire body- meat, skin, bones, everything. He only refuses to be a vegetarian as very few plants can give the same protein an animal can. He does however refuse to kill rabbits at all as he feels a certain fellowship to them he cannot describe. He greatly enjoys being outside in nature. He likes gardening, nature watching, and even sketches pictures of animals from time to time.

Haku is also incredibly sweet. He dislikes being rude and endeavors to be as polite as possible- especially to women or men who remind him of Zabuza. He respects just about everyone and is incredibly open-minded, if a bit surprised by ideas that are new to him. There are certain behaviors he cannot tolerate, however. Anyone who betrays their friends or brethren, he feels, is below worthless, and will not even so much as give them the light of day. Surprisingly, if someone harms an ally of his own, he understands unless they are acting of their own accord- he does know that ninja are tools and not acting as individuals. For those who are doing it out of their own malice, though, they are the sole people whom he will not ever hold back against.

History:
Haku was born in a small, snowy village in the Land of Water, a land that had suffered from war not long before. In this war, different sides battled each other using ninja, some of whom possessed kekkei genkai. After the war ended, memories of the horrific battles still lingered in the minds of the people. Those with kekkei genkai quickly became feared and hated for their abilities, out of concern that their existence would only bring about more war.

Haku's father and mother were simple farmers, and they lived a peaceful life. They loved each other, and were kind to their child. Unfortunately, this all changed one day. Haku's mother was a carrier of a kekkei genkai: Ice Release. She hid this fact from her husband, hoping that the love and peace that was shared in their small family would last forever. One day, Haku discovered the ability to manipulate water. Amazed by this, Haku proudly showed this to his mother, who was horrified by what she saw, and harshly scolded Haku for displaying his ability. Unbeknownst to his mother, Haku's father had seen everything. When Haku's father discovered that his wife and child possessed a kekkei genkai, he assembled a small mob of villagers, and killed his wife. He would have done the same to Haku, but before he could, Haku used his Ice Spikes to create several large, sharpened pillars of ice to kill his father and the rest of the mob.

Orphaned, Haku became a child who was wanted by no one and was forced to take to the cold streets and rummage through trash bins for scraps of food, even sometimes having to fight off the wild dogs that roamed the streets. In time, he was found by Zabuza Momochi, who asked Haku to become his "weapon," which meant to become a dedicated shinobi for Zabuza. Haku readily accepted this role, due to the purpose it gave him, devoting his life to becoming the ultimate weapon for Zabuza. Zabuza then trained Haku in the ways of the shinobi, as well as every fighting technique that he knew.

Haku and Zabuza met Kimimaro some time after Zabuza cast aside the Land of Water and set out with Haku. Haku appeared to sympathize with Kimimaro for his loneliness and lack of purpose by looking into his eyes. However, he was forced to keep moving by Zabuza, and leave Kimimaro be.

When Zabuza was about to be killed by Kakashi Hatake, Haku appeared, disguised as a hunter-nin, playing the part by appearing to kill Zabuza. He took the body, and, elsewhere, revived him, leaving Zabuza to rest a week before he could have a rematch with Kakashi. During this time, he met Naruto, and had a conversation with him about their purposes in life and those they care about.

During Zabuza's second fight with Kakashi, Haku (wearing the same mask as when he saved Zabuza) was drawn into battle with Kakashi's students: first Sasuke and then Naruto. He trapped both with his Demonic Ice Crystal Mirrors, and bombarded them with needles, tiring them out. When Sasuke appeared to die protecting Naruto from a "fatal" blow (in actuality being put in a death-like stance), Naruto, in anger, tapped into the power of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed within him. He was able to attack Haku, and break through the mirrors, in turn breaking Haku's mask. Recognizing Haku from earlier, Naruto regained his senses in time to stop himself from killing Haku.

Haku, defeated, and thus of no further use to Zabuza, asked Naruto to kill him anyway. Though reluctant, Naruto tried to comply, if it would make Haku happy. Before Naruto could do so, however, Haku sensed that Zabuza was about to be killed by Kakashi. Finding one final purpose, he parried Naruto's attack and went to Zabuza, using himself as a human shield against Kakashi's Lightning Cutter. Before he died, he grabbed Kakashi's arm, hoping that in death he would be useful to Zabuza in defeating his opponent. Zabuza thanked him, and tried to cut through his body to kill Kakashi, but Kakashi was able to pull away from the attack.

When Zabuza's employer, Gatō, arrived soon afterwards, and chose to end his contract with Zabuza, he was quick to defile Haku's body. While initially unperturbed by this, Zabuza was brought to tears by the act when Naruto told him of how Haku felt about him. In a final act of repentance, Zabuza killed Gatō, at the cost of his own life. As he died from the injuries given to him by Gatō's men, Zabuza asked to be beside Haku in death, and asked if they could go to the same afterlife together.

Haku is resurrected by Kabuto, along with other famous shinobi through the Summoning: Impure World Resurrection, to prepare for war. While marching for war, he talked with Zabuza about how odd was the situation, since his mind was clear but his body was moving on its own. However, he knew he was not in the afterlife anymore.

When his group was attacked by the Surprise Attack Division, Haku quickly set up a defense, protecting himself and Zabuza. Haku then detected the ink birds the Surprise Attack Division were riding upon and used a Demonic Ice Mirror to appear above them and shoot them down with senbon. Upon landing, he joined Zabuza and the other zombies with them in charging the downed division. The zombie group was stopped by the Third Division, Rock Lee being the one to stop Haku himself. Zabuza then talked with Kakashi who revealed that Naruto had improved vastly since they had fought. This news brought a smile to Haku's face who believed Naruto would only continue to improve.
